Cold Storage Case

The risks associated with this insulated case come entirely from improper temperature management and poor maintenance. The most common error is using the cold packs before they are completely frozen solid. If the packs are still soft or slushy, they will fail to maintain the required 2 to 8 °C range for the full 8 to 12 hours. This will expose your reconstituted solutions to room temperature, causing rapid degradation. Another major mistake is using the case to store lyophilized powders for extended periods. Because unmixed peptides require a minus 20 °C environment, keeping them in this refrigerated case will significantly reduce their shelf life. Failing to dry the interior after use is a severe hygiene risk. Condensation from the thawing cold packs creates a damp environment inside the closed case. If left wet, mold and bacteria will grow, which can contaminate the rubber stoppers and exteriors of your vials. Always remove the cold packs after your trip, wipe down the internal lining, and leave the case fully open until it is completely dry. Never store vials with compromised seals to prevent leaks.
