Overview
Thymalin is a polypeptide complex originally isolated from the thymus gland. It functions as a bioregulator to modulate the immune system and support cellular function. The peptide influences the maturation and activity of T-lymphocytes. Lyophilized formulations require reconstitution with bacteriostatic water prior to subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
Thymalin interacts directly with the cellular mechanisms of the immune system to regulate the ratio of T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes. It stimulates phagocytosis and enhances cellular immunity by promoting T-cell differentiation. The peptide also demonstrates regulatory effects on the neuroendocrine-immune axis, supporting homeostasis during physiological stress.
